Angel and The Dragon

Angel and the Dragon
By: Mookie

Hey mommy, why is that tree soooo big and has many tiny evil creatures flying around it! Huh?!? Mommy?!?!?” Asked the little girl as she jumped up and down pointing towards the tree. Her mother would look at the tree but see nothing but leaves and squirrels. Worried for her child’s safety she could not go to the village, doctors, or the church. “Isabella, there is nothing their…please do not say such things in public.” The mother would kneel next to her young 6 year old Isabella and whisper these words every time. “Your special and you can see things no one else can see but you must never speak of what you see.” Isabella would give her mother a confused look then lower her head. “Sorry Mommy…is that they looked so scary and evil…they might try to hurt us. I won’t do it again.”
Her mother was the local baker of the village, many people would come to visit and buy bread. Her mother was blessed with the beauty of 1000 women and the heart of an angel and with the courage of a dragon. Strong and prideful the mother never found love yet she did not need it for she had Isabella by her side. As her mother she had a beauty to die for and the heart of many angels as well as the courage of a goddess. Energetic the child indeed was but never clumsy nor shy, she spoke her mind at all times and this preoccupied her mother. Since Isabella began to speak she was able to see things that no one else could see, she saw men and called them vile and demonic, and she saw gorgeous women and called them men eaters and deceivers. The mother and her lovely daughter moved from village to village because the people would try to burn them on the steak, calling them witches and the devils pawns. The mother would never abandon Isabella she loved her child more than she loved herself and that would never change.
“Mommy!!” Isabella came running towards her mother with her arms open and a big smile. Skipping and running with a smile that would warm even the coldest of hearts, speaking to the top of her voice “I made a FRIEND!!! MOMMY! I GOT A FRIEND!!” Her mother was content and smiled as she seen Isabella jump full of joy and excitement, she opened her arms and Isabella jumped in them and hugged her. “Mommy, his name is Belus and he’s 7! He is soo cute and kind…” Isabella continued to tell her mother about Belus. “…and he has black hair and he helped me get my bag from the top of the tree because some mean daemons threw it up their.” Isabella’s eyes where bright and her cheeks were light pink under her tan skin. The mother didn’t want to ruin the moment so she did not ask her if she told Belus anything about the creature’s she can see.
A villager came running in the bakery full of happiness and very jittery. “Victoria, the Miracle Worker is here! And he brought fruits and medications for the ill people of our village! You must come and see him!” The villager ran out towards the center of the town and so did Victoria and Isabella. Isabella was jogging to keep up with her mother’s long strides. “Mommy…wait…I’m tired…” Isabella stopped and her mother took her hand and they walked towards all the commotion. The mother saw villagers eating fruits and drinking medication giving to them by the Miracle Worker. Isabella looked at the fruit “Mommy…their eating hearts and heads…their eating humans mommy…” she whispered to her mother and at the same time the Miracle Worker came in plain view of them “Here young one, eat some of my fruits.” All the mother saw was the most beautiful man in the worlds with his soft curls resting on his shoulder, wearing a long and beautiful, elegant white robe. His followers also wearing robes but none nearly as beautiful as him. Isabella looked at the head that was being offered to her as fruit “You disgusting creature of hell, vile and demonic should be your names.” The creatures smiled “A mere human child can see my true from, how very interesting.”the creature spoke low enough to be herd by Isabella and her mother. Isabella could see all the blood and organs dripping down from the baskets held by his followers as well as the one these villagers called the “Miracle Worker” He was naked, with black bat wings and pale skin, hair as blond as the color of the sun, his hons where long and sharp, he glided with millions of dead bodies floating behind and under him. The mother covered Isabella’s mouth as soon as she noticed that Isabella was about to respond. The villagers did not noticed because they where consuming the bodies giving to them by the creature of beauty. The mother tripped over her words but stood tall and confident “She is just a child, she knows nothing of what she speaks.” The mother said and backed away with Isabella.
Once they arrived at the bakery Belus was their waiting for Isabella so they can go and play near the old oak tree. Isabella skipped out with Belus and her mother told her again in the ear “Your special and you can see things no one else can see but you must never speak of what you see.” Isabella nodded and left the bakery with Belus. Her mother began to clean up the bakery getting ready to close it and that is when a covered person walks in, wearing a dark long cloak. “Sorry but we are closed, please come back tomorrow.” The mother said with a warm smile. The cloaked person walked in the store and closed the door “Your child will die a horrible death to the steak in the very near future.” The stranger spoke in a soft delicate voice. The mother was shocked and frozen with horror at the news. “HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?!?!…THAT IS A LIE!”She began to trip over the furniture she had in the shop, full of fear and horror and anger. The stranger made a floating contract appear “If you sign this, I will guarantee that she will not die burned on the steak. I have no reason to deceive you about a mere human life.” The mother recovered herself the same way she had lost herself “Are you the devil?” The stranger didn’t even move a muscle since he walked in the bakery. “I have many names, devil may be one of them as well as God of Evil and King of hell.” The mother hesitated to move but this was for the love of her child, of her Isabella, she could not die in such a horrible manner. Victoria looked away from the stranger and let her hair make a dark curly curtain between them “What are your conditions daemon?” The stranger gave her the conditions and the mother signed the contract. The stranger takes off his cloak to reveal the Miracle Worker, “Your child was very correct about my true identity, now the fun can begin.” The mother shocked and angered “WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TO HER?!??!?” She was screaming “YOU BETTER NOT GO NEAR HER!!!! YOU SAID YOU WOULD NOT HURT HER!!!” The creature looked at her and smiled “I said I would not let her be burned on the steak, you must honor your contract or you shall both die.” The mother angered and enraged she took a knife that was sitting on the counter and stabbed the creature on the neck. The creature put his hand on his neck to stop the bleeding “I really liked this body and now you have ruined it, that was a petty attempt to harm me because you can not kill me.” With that the creature walked out the door but the mother said laud enough for him to hear “You can not HURT her because that contract was sing from the love of a mother which is all I have for my child!” The creature felt a small shiver “Love is not real.” and he was gone.
The next morning someone comes knocking frantically on Victoria’s door before the sun even came up. “VICTORIA! WAKE UP!” the next door blacksmith is screaming and shouting, sounding very nervous. Victoria runs to the door and swings it open “Victoria…my wife is giving birth! And the doctor is no where to be found…I herd that you can deliver a baby.” Victoria nodded and went to get hot towels. Isabella wakes up and looks at her mother about to walk out the door “MOMMY!” Her eyes full of tears and she was shaking. “Don’t go. Something bad is going to happen…mommy the baby is already dead and the wife will die too! DON’T GO!” The black smith looked at Isabella and then at the mother “You had a bad dream Isabella, that’s all. It was just a nightmare. I love you. Go back to bed.” With that the mother runs out the door fighting back her tears. The blacksmith was too worried about his new family that he didn’t even questioned her about Isabella. The mother arrives and delivers the baby, as said by Isabella, both the baby and the mother died. The baby was born with worms eating its flesh and with its skin peeling off then the mother bleed to death from her mouth and her skin began to peel off, as if she evaporated into thin air. The blacksmith immediately called the Church who controlled the government and the security, they took Victoria to the center of the town and they brought her child as well. The priest ordered to tie Victoria to the steak and she did not fight for all this was part of the contract. “THE DEVIL’S PAWNS! She is the devil’s evil workers! SHE HAS KILLED A FAMILY!” Villagers threw rocks and garbage at Isabella who was just a few feet away from where her mother was being tied to. They had Isabella tied by her hands and her feet so all she could was watch her mother be burned on the steak. Her mother didn’t scream all she said was “I love you Isabella. Don‘t cry.” With her final tears she was consumed by the fire. The priest of the church looked at Isabella as she cried and shouted like a child she was, she watched her mother be burned alive. “WE will drown the DEVIL’S child in the river of HOLY WATER!” The priest pointed towards Isabella and he picked her up and put her on the horse. The villagers were shouting “Devil’s child! Must die!” As the priest began to ride the horse towards the river a tree fell and blocked the path for the rest of the villagers. He was on the other side with Isabella, he rode a bit father and cut her ropes. “You have until I count to 10 to out run me and if you out run me I won’t kill you.” The priest smiled and Isabella began to run, crying. All she could see was her mother crying and burning, asking herself why her mother hadn’t listened. Isabella hears the horse approaching and she looks back, the priest is getting closer and he has a devilish smile as if posed. She continues to run and a man is floating above her “I will grant you a favor.” She continues to run and then she hears the villagers close behind her, Isabella looks up “…Are you a daemon?” She was panting as she continued to run. The creature slept Isabella and took her to the territory of the dragons.
Isabella wakes up in the forest near a river with cool flowing water. “Where am I?…Am I dead yet…their might be a waterfall nearby…mother would be their. I am not dead sadly…so mother won‘t be their…” She thought as she walked close to the river seeking a village or a home in which she could eat in. Her stomach was growling and she began to cry out of the blue. Isabella fell to her knees as she remembered the death of her mother, her wonderful mother was killed by the village. She was shaking and blaming herself for the death of her mother if only she would have kept begging her not to go…maybe she would have stayed. Isabella was scared and alone in a place she knew nothing about, she didn’t remember how she got to this place. She laid on the cold ground until night fall, then she crawled under the big tree trunk and cried herself to sleep. That night Isabella herd “Don’t cry baby, is alright.” from the voice of her mother. The sun rose and her stomach was growling worse than before, she got out from under the tree and walked up stream. It did not take her long to reach the waterfall, she was mesmerized by its natural peace and beauty, it reminded her of her mother. She looked around and found a tiny bush of berries, she was thankful that her mother had taught her many things about nature. Isabella picked berries and ate then put some on leaves so she could take with her. She drank some of the water and her reflection caught her attention. Her face was dirty and her body was full of cuts, her nightgown was torn and dirty as well. She took her clothing off because she believed that no one would come across this waterfall and walked under the waterfall. The water felt good on her hot skin, she was crying as she bathed because her cuts would burn when the water touched them. She was crying because she was scared, she missed her mother, she was lost and she was just a child with barely enough experience to survive. “Who dares touches my waterfall?” A soft voice from a man, and she quickly went deeper into the waterfall.“Maybe he won’t see me…” As scared as Isabella was she tried not to cry out loud as the man approached the waterfall, slowly walking. She was paralyzed with fear and didn’t know what to do “Don’t come any CLOSER!” She screamed and she quickly covered her mouth again. “This is my territory. What gives you the right to tell me what to do?” The man had stopped and she peeked her head out from inside the waterfall, she quickly walks under the water, using it as cover until she is within reach of her nightgown that was on a rock. Isabella slides it on and steps out the waterfall. The man was inhumanly beautiful, white long straight hair that even if tied in a high ponytail it passed his ankles, he was wearing a black and white robe that exposed his left shoulder, the bottom of his robe was on the ground as if sweeping up after he walked. The most captivating feature of all was his face, pale skin but a perfectly angled face, his eyes where a very dark color because he was under a shade from a tree, the exposed shoulder had a birth marked shaped like a dragon. “My mother told me that people with that mark where immortal dragons.” Isabella was mesmerized by this creature that she forgot about every thing. The man was smiling and glancing over the young child in front of him. She was all wet and her hair was black curls falling lightly to her arms, she had bruises and cuts around her neck, face, arms and legs “Are you lost little one? Do you need some help?” Isabella looked down to her feet “I am very sorry, I have no right to order you around on your own territory.” She didn’t want to leave with him because he might turn her in to the priest of the village. He smiled and walked towards Isabella, she looked up and seen him coming closer. Once she was about to step back, she caught his light blue eyes. She suddenly began to feel dizzy and sleepy.
Isabella was woken up by a bothersome light, her eyelids felt heavy as she tried to open them. The sun seemed to be close enough to eat, the sun was shining through the wall length window. She laid still on the bed, scared to move as she tried to remember how she had arrived in such a beautiful castle only found in her imagination. “Maybe I died and I can now find mommy here in heaven.” Isabella didn’t want to move but she looked around the room from the bed in which she laid in. The room was bigger than her mother’s whole bakery, it was filled with things that were decades old, like the owner would collect these things through out time. Yet everything was white and gold very few things where black, the porcelain horse that was missing a leg was all white with gold thread hanging as if hair. The bed Isabella laid on felt like a cloud, as if she was floating on water or soaring through air. Isabella felt odd in the bed, she felt too good and peaceful. She quickly jumped out of the bed, fearing that this might all be an illusion and that she was really in hell. She stood standing, waiting to be woken up or taken by the daemon of illusions. Nothing happened after awhile and her body relaxed as she glanced around the room, looking for some slippers. Isabella’s eyes where caught by the gown she had on, the dress was long and white. Falling lightly on the floor almost as if she was gliding and the top was tight, it hugged her from her waist up leaving the bottom flying free. The gown was weaved by a softer fabric, might have been silk or spider webs. Isabella couldn’t help but smile, she began to turn in a circle but her eyes caught something even more beautiful than the horse and the gown. The most gorgeous painting she has ever seen or better to say the man in the painting was the most gorgeous man alive. Isabella walked over to the painting and touched the border that was gold, the pattern was small flowers and swirls. The border seemed to compete with the man in the painting for her attention, both where well done and looked as if it had dropped from heaven. The man caught her full attention, losing interest in the border Isabella ran her finger down his black and gilded robe. He was tall and handsome even if he was just a painting, his white hair was the length of his waist, straight and waive in a manner that no human can even imagine. His skin was pale but he did not look fragile, he looked strong but his eyes seemed to have many emotions in them. “Wow…he is a divine creature…maybe I am in heaven…” Isabella said under her breath. “He looks like someone I have seen before…but that can’t be. For I would remember such a beautiful man.” She spoke really low and her mind began to wonder off. The knock on the door made Isabella jump and she panicked, she began to look for a place to hide. Isabella crawled under the bed and the door opened moments later. The dragon walks in with his white robe still rubbing against the floor “Little one, come on out. I will not do any harm to you.” His voice sounded too familiar as if Isabella had known him for yeas as opposed to minutes. Isabella began to feel something that she didn’t think she would feel again because the only person that could make her warm was her mother’s voice. She suddenly wanted to come out, be embraced by this creature that may eat her for dinner, she remembered the birthmark of the dragon. The fear and doubt where gone and she crawled out from under the bed, blushing. She felt embarrassed and suddenly shy, she kept her heart beat in check and looked only at the floor. “…He…hello…please forgive my behavior so far. I should be thankful for everything you have given me. I am in your debt.” She bows. Her body was shivering and her face must have been bright red because her neck was really hot. The dragon stood standing, looking out the window and controlling his emotions, he wanted to hug Isabella but that would scare her. “What is your name?” The dragon asked with a calm voice. “Isabella.” The dragon glanced at her, and smiled. “Isabella, how old are you?” Isabella closed her eyes and he“Hey mommy, why is that tree soooo big and has many tiny evil creatures flying around it! Huh?!? Mommy?!?!?” Asked the little girl as she jumped up and down pointing towards the tree. “Isabella, how old are you?” Isabella closed her eyes and held them shut tightly “6.” The dragon looked out the window, and remembered the words of an old sage.
